TX2 conflict with system on Windows ME

I have an Abit KG7-RAID motherboard and a Promise Ultra 133 TX2 controller card. I would like to use them both but whenever I install the driver for the TX2 the system halts (commonly called the "blue screen of death") before Windows ME can load. Have you any idea what can cause this? There are no clues given by the blue screen. The computer will start in "Safe" mode. The video card is an ATI All in Wonder 128 if that helps.
I've already updated the TX2 BIOS to the latest on the Promise web site.
