AoD, you sound like me. :) A few times I have started posts and I will get 5-6 replys while somepeople get 50-100 so I figure either no one likes me or my thread wasn't that interesting (I'm going to go with choice number 2) but whatever the reason I'm sure it's not that people don't care. I will go through threads and look at what someone wrote and if I don't understand or don't have any pertinant info I don't post. I look at and read all the posts though. So maybe thats what people are doing, just reading your post but they don't have any actual input so they just move on.

I usually just feel glad when I see someone call me by my name and give me a thank you. With a board this big it's hard to find your niche especially when so many people seem to know each other and we are just trying to fit in somewhere.

Don't give up as you are not alone I'm sure, I for one know how you feel. :)

You don't suppose it's that people only expect to post once to the AngelOfDeath and they aren't looking forward to it.

Try a new handle like Giggles or something. :D

I don't know if you pay any attention to my stuff, but I often talk about how we all feel bad about ourselves. We don't think we post good and so on and so forth, or we get some attention and go, oh man ain't I cool cause I don't feel it. I also claim that there's nothing wrong with anybody except the feel there is. If you trust the force really like Stallion said, things change. Sometimes it's giving that's the most fun and makes friends. For example, that one there by Stallion was one of the nicest I've seen in a while and makes me feel good knowing somebody with his sensitivity is around. You made it possible for me to feel that.

Anyway, by having the courage to express your real feeling of complaint, some show they care.

Good luck to you what ever you do.

start some thread claiming people with joined earlobes are not intelligent (as you can see I have non-joined earlobes).

it's simple and everyone will have something to say about it.

No don't go and try and get me all choked up Moonbeam. :) I think the times at when I post have a hard effect on making new friends as well as I am usually only here late at night and don't get a chance to have some real big conversations with alot of people. So we need to stick with the quality and that will one day work in to quantity.

The way I see it I will probably never be a Russ or Paulson or Red Dawn or Denil or WW or Adul but that might not be such a bad thing as it looks like they take an awful lot of flak at times. So as long as I can help in any way I am doing my part

AoD I'd take it that your threads are just to intelligent of deep for most of the board members so they don't reply so they don't seem inadequate. ;)

I go through phases myself and have been on a posting phase for the last week or two. Then I may go a month without posting anything. I also read all the threads but don't usually post unless I have something pertinent to say.

Hang around and just lurk.

Try posting on topics such as "funny things you do in the bathroom" or "worst dump you ever took" ...as it seems those are the threads that get the most enthusiastic response. Not everyone comes here for deep intellectual/election related talk. Sometimes that is great, but other times you just need a good "toilet overflowing" story to make you laugh. :D

Your thoughtfulness when it comes to the fairer sex has impressed me and I always look at your posts and your threads. You also add to the International feel of this place... it is nice to hear what someone from your part of the planet has to say.

I really wish you will reconsider. Hanging out here at all takes a certain amount of courage for me and the other women here. This is not exactly a female-friendly place, if you consider a lot of the subject matter that is posted. However, there are a lot of other good topics that are brought up, as well as a lot of decent people here that make me have HOPE. I consider you one of the 'good guys'.... Be patient and forgiving.

Peace~

Stallion,

<< The way I see it I will probably never be a Russ or Paulson or Red Dawn or Denil or WW or Adul >>

There are some folks you ought not even consider being like in that list.

AoD,
Quit your whining and get back here, so you didnt get enough attention, well here this thread did.

Stallion: Tx for the words :).

Moonbeam: I do notice whenever you write. And I do sometimes feel that people don't pay attention, but alright that's life in this forum.

AoD: please dont get worked out for stuff like this, I rarely start a thread, and thats rarely, and when i do, it hardly ever gets any replies, but it doesnt matter, you had something to say and you said, i am sure people read it, however they had nothing to say about it. belive me, i rather have 3 good responses instead of 20 saying "yes" or "not me" or "i dont know" which some people in this board are famous for.

AoD, c'mon man, it's just a forum...

Speaking for myself, I am gone days at a time and even then I can't check the three places I normally go to (Hot Deals, Networking, and OS [rated where I go first, second, third]).

I'm sure you start great threads, but even if you don't and nobody responds, that doesn't mean that you aren't valued regardless.

AOD,

I always read your posts, sometimes I answer, sometimes not.

Just remember these great words:

"Dont let the Basta*ds get you down"

Stick around

I'm a lot like DAM, I don't start many threads and the one's I do I don't expect to get many replies. Many of them are like the Single Mans Guide to Housecleaning I posted earlier, it's a humorous piece that won't get many replies but if a few people get a chuckle out of it and it brightens someones day for a minute then hey, my work is done.

Glad to see you're hanging around.

AoD I read your replies and your threads. I appreciate them. I am a lot like Stallion in that I read most of the 1st 100 threads in General Hardware and Off Topic (if I have the time). I sometimes stray to other topics just to see what's going on in the heated debates of who's making the best video cards (<rant>although it seems that the G.E. forum is now the new place for this talk -- I say new in a relative sense since I have been coming here for 2 years, back when the Celerey 300A and the P2 SL2W8 OEM and the SL2YK Retail and the BH6 Rev 1.00 had updates posted weekly for the BIOS by a member named Oliver Wu -- now you may say that this current user has only been registered for a little under a year, but I changed names 11 months back</end rant>). In fact I bet there's a record somewhere that shows that I look at most of these threads and don't reply. I either have nothing to add, something to add but am too lazy, or have been beaten to the punch since I only look at this site 1-3 times per day. I often start replying and then just hit cancel since I think I get rambling and ranting in an off post topic way (like above).

So to get back to the topic at hand, I'm glad you are staying and yes I know the uphill climb for post quantity can be a disappointing one, but those posts that are worthwhile and have some quality are appreciated by good members. So is quantity better than quality? I don't think so. But the thing that keeps me coming back and impresses me the most are those members that find the time to post in both quality and quantity. This is the best place to just chat in a BBS or get some help with our hobbies or jobs. Don't leave. I often feel the same way myself but then I remember that this board is for me to gain help and experience and to have some laughs. Enjoy it and if you can't gain the joy from it that you once did then I don't know what to say. That is what keeps me coming back and turns it into a positive experience. (and yes I read this before you changed the topic).

Tx Stallion and |Toast| and ofcourse the rest of you who gave me a hand when I needed it :). I really appreciate those nice words you've given me. I do the same as you two and must admit that I have to find my place among all of you guys and girls :). All of you gave me a lot to think about and react upon.

Tx...You all are the greatest :).
