Two years better late than never: Band of Brothers

StageLeft

No Lifer
Just finished the last episode. I'd rented these over the past 10 days or so from blockbuster and would heartily recommend the rental. I'm sure there is somebody reading this who's not yet seen the entire series but it's quite superb, as the hundreds of 5/5 reviewers on Amazon will attest to. It's like a super long saving private ryan, but probably better because it happened (SPR used non-fiction events as the backdrop for a fictional story).

I bough the box set a few months ago, I loved it. I just started watching it again for the second time

I can't buy it because I just preordered 24 season two (obviously I'll watch that only once, and then sell it - but I didn't want to scramble to rent it when it comes out this week). I'd previously concluded that season 1 of 24 was the best tv ever but I'll definitely put BoB next to it. I don't expect Season 2 to be as good though from what I've heard, but still a worthy watch.

You can't have both?

I don't think Skoorb intends to keep the 24 S2 DVDs.

LOL!

I just saw the first 3 episodes then we moved to our house (HBO was free in our apt.). since then i never got the chance to watch the remaining episodes. thanx for reminding me.🙂

I watched it faithfully when it was on HBO, and I now have it on my Hard Drive as well!

One of the BEST war films ever made IMO!

I broke down and bought it this summer...but since I am writing my senior honors thesis about one of the locations Easy Company trained at, I could call it research 😉

yeah it is something everyone should watch if you havent seen it yet. If I can ever learn to divx it right id have them on my pc.

Yeah I always see them at Blockbuster, I will have to go pick one up the next time I go. It's TV, but I'm sure it's better than what passes for movies today.

i'll get it when it comes out on DVHS. i fell asleep during the HDTV airings on HBO, and only got to see a few episodes.
