Two wireless routers...one acts as a access point...can it be done?

i have two wireless routers. one is connected to the cable modem. the other i want to put in the middle of the house since my room is on the other side of the house. when i goggled for more information about this, some websites said it can be done and some said that it cant be done. what do you guys thinkn? please help me out with this because it really sucks when you have a cable connection but you get dial up speeds when it comes to loading webpages and such. thx.

It can act has an Access Point if it connected with a Cable to the first Router.

It can Act as a Repeater if it is WDS and first Router has the same chipset.

Depends on your hardware. Some can some cant. Check owners manual.
