I usually run win2k, as it is my primary OS. One day i installed x-setup and i fiddled with something i shouldnt' have (still not sure what setting), and my comp would restart when it came to the "loading settings" when win2k was logging my only user on. anyways, to make a long story short, i installed a second win2k (winnt2) on my C partition, where my old win2k partition (winnt) was installed. So now i have 2 win2k folders, one named "winnt," the other "winnt2." i tried renaming the second win2k partition to something else, but it still shows up as a possible boot option when i'm in the bios. what can i do to get rid of that as a choice? should i delete the winnt2 folder?

edit the boot.ini file in your root drive (C in windows terminology). it has hidden attributes by defaul so you will have to use edit from the command line.

remove any mention of your old installation and youre good to go.

Just to tell ya, if you had two win2k dual boots, you would have 4 copies of win2k on your machine ;)
