Oh no, sources were wrong! Thankfully this kind of thing usually never occurs in politics! :roll:

Well it's now the end of May, where is his VP pick you "well placed sources"?;)

CNN thinks it'll be July 21

Have fun with this(and the other threads) - see you on Monday:D

It is Monday, you putz. ;)

Yep, just a pre-emptive strike and taunt. I knew they wouldn't pick one this weekend - especially since it was Memorial Day weekend. But anyway, I'm glad I wasn't wrong since I'll be collecting my $40 tommorow from a guy who bet me kerry would pick his VP by Memorial day:D I guess I'll have to take him out to lunch tommorow to help ease the pain he inflicted upon himself.(the rest will pay for the massive amounts of petrol I used this last weekend - not that it'll put much of a dent in the tab.)

Its going to be John Edwards.

Last week Kerry named John Edwards' chairman of fundraising, Fred Baron, as the co-chair of his fundraising committee. This is what leads me to believe Edwards will get the nod.

I think it will be someone who meets these criteria:

1. Must have national stature;
2. Must be a political moderate or conservative democrat;
3. Preferably from the South or Midwest;
4. Younger than Kerry and more dynamic (that means anyone under 50 will do);
5. No major political downside, e.g. Joe Lieberman would have with the anti-war wing of the party.

These criteria suggest Edwards as the strongest possible candidate. I love Feinstein, but the Dems will carry Cali so why pick her?

Also, picking Edwards will almost guarantee the red-neck waitress vote. :)

I guess I missed a memo. Why do I care whether Kerry announced a running mate yet or not? If he doesn't have one by November, then I'll be concerned. Until then, who cares? Is it a slow Kerry-bashing weekend or something?

Since this is CkG's thread, he must want to know who Bush-lite is going to pick to replace Cheyney. Requirements:

1. Rich
2. Neocon
3. No (or at least failing) heart

:p

Off the top of my head:

John Edwards
Dick Gephardt
Wesley Clark
Evan Bayh
Tom Vilsack
Bill Richardson

My vote is for Richardson.
