I just saw at www.starband.com that companies are now starting to produce satellites that can send and receive. These guys promise 500 kbps down and 150 kbps up during non peak times. Are there any other companies out there that do this? DSL and cable aren't an option for me and the guy who runs our T1 has it choked off.

from what I hear the ping times suck, but all in all its a good option if you dont plan on online gaming.

Been using 26.4 for about 4.5 years, and quite frankly I'm sick it. Even though I'm an avid gamer, I'm to the point where I could care less about ping...and as I live in a rural area, DSL, cable is a no-go. I'm also sick of waiting for hughes, so I signed up for starband. Installation is scheduled for the 5th, so I'll keep you guys updated.
