Two very ill laptops

Hello,

I have two Compaq armada 7400's that are very ill. I am trying to find recovery cd's for these so I can redeploy these for my two and soon to be three college kids. I tried looking on the HP website for recover software, but could not find any. I hate to throw these out knowing that they are still very sound. Can anyone direct us to the right place to find the recover cd's? Thanks so much!

You don't need recovery cds for those. You can use any other copy of Windows as long as it's not installed on any other PC.

Hi Mike and Welcome to the Forums!

Last year my father had a prob with his HP, and there was no recovery disk supplied with the PC at purchase. Do what he did, call 'em on the phone. I think they charged him $10 for the disks to cover shipping.

If you just reinstall windows, you won't have any neccesary drivers (chipset & gfx etc).
