Two Verizon questions I don't want to call customer service about.

1) Games subscriptions. Some, like Midnight Pool 3D (which I want bad, its predecessor was the best!), have airtime usage. Why? Is it multiplayer only or something silly? That is crazy.

2) Features like VCAST PAK and whatever else, they are done monthly without a commitment, right; I can cancel at any time?

3) What's a super-sweet game right now?

tia!

Oh but jhill I hate customer service. Last time I called crap mobile I tried their automated voice system and it interpreted "cancel" as "payment", so then I found that if I just clearly repeat f**k over and over, it puts me through to a rep.

there is a feature on there called 'gamesoft live' that allows you to play against other players. and i believe thats the only part that uses airtime usuage. tournament mode, arcade mode, tutorials and the challenges dont connect to verizon at all.

1. I take it you didn\'t download it yet? Airtime charges for when you download the game. You live in an EVDO(high speed) coverage area so at most it will use a minute worth of time to download. If you were not in a high speed area it could take up to 5 depending on the game.

Some games that are part of a contest or keep score will use airtime at the end of the game to keep you record. There are only a few of these.

2. VCast VPak is just a feature. Thre is no commitment to this. You can turn it on o off at anytime. However you are billed a month in advance so you will get prorations when constantly turning it on and off.

3. Games.....Classics are good, PacMan, Contra..etc Also, Madden, Tiger Woods, the baseball games suck. Then there s the internet favorites like Zuma

I wish they would say on the description of the game what the airtime usage is for. I usually avoid airtime usage games, but if it's only doing it for some stupid score sharing thing I'll start trying those. I was assuming it was going to use airtime the entire time I'm playing.

I did, too (wonder), hence this post!

VZ is not clear on a lot of things. My phone, for instance, came with a demo of VZ Navigator, but nobody mentioned that. It was just there and I had no clue if I was paying for it or not (apparently there is a 30 day free demo; after that you pay if you want).

I think any word works and if the machines cannot interpret, they just fail over to something, though when I was making the sound of an animal dying, the thing put me through to a payment option, so maybe in some causes they default to get you to pay something.
