Two upgrade paths and conflicted

I'm looking to upgrade one of my computers to something more modern, have two machines and am unsure of which upgrade path I should take. Both machines are running Windows 7 64-bit RC that was available from Microsoft. Here are the specs of the two machines.

Dell System: Q6600, 8800GT, 2x500GB drives, 6GB of PC6400

Self-built: AMD X2 2350 Black edition (one of the low energy processors, runs around 2.1 ghz stock), Asus M3A78 Pro, 4GB RAM, integrated video/audio/etc

I originally planned to buy a better motherboard, PSU and case for the Dell and upgrade it, but this is proving a little more costly than I anticipated. Upgrading the Dell would require me to buy a new cooling solution and PSU, which will run well over $100 by themselves. Dismantling the Dell would be a little more work than just upgrading the self-built. Also, the Dell's case is bent and I have to use a knife to open my DVD drives.

If I upgraded the self-built, which isn't getting used often, I would have two reasonably current machines. I would also not have to buy a new PSU or cooling solution. The case for this machine is old and not in good shape, so I bought an Antec 900 case today that will be used with whatever I go with. I will also need to buy a cheap video card if I upgrade my self-built. I will likely be using my 8800GT in the upgraded machine as about all I play is WoW.

What is your recommendation on what I should be doing here?

It doesn't sound like the Dell is going to stay much a Dell. I'd fix the case a bit and leave it alone. At some point, you can sell it at a decent price if you keep it original.

Video cards that will run WoW aren't that pricey.

The Q6600 and 8800 GT seems like the best combo to me. Does the Dell's PSU use a strange form factor (weird size, non-ATX, or unusual connectors)? Usually their PSUs are not junk, so if it's a normal ATX unit you should be able to reuse it. The same goes for the Dell's motherboard.

If both are normal ATX, you may be able to get away with plopping it all in the new Antec 900.
