Two things I hate the most

Rudee

Lifer
1. The Dutch
2. Software progams that put files in the "My Documents" folder. Why the hell do they do that???

On a similar note, I can't stand the entire "C:\Program Files" concept. I want my programs on the root directory, damnit!

Well, it's better to put it in the "My Documents" folder than on the Desktop.

No it's not.

Stuff in My Documents i don't notice, but Desktop i do.

Where else are they going to put it?

How about the directory that I specify during the install? Just a thought. EA Sports games are famous for this clutter.

I hate games and applications that do this. It prevents users with no admin privileges from being able run or play the game properly.

why?

Why? Because I want to put them where I want them. Duh. And there's nothing worse than when I specify a directory, and a program STILL creates a folder under Program Files. :|

1. It probably was a "Compatible with Windows" Logo requirement at one point.
2. An application can write to it, while it might not have access rights anywhere else depending on the login you're using
3. Some users complain if you don't put files there. MS has them well-trained.

ok, c:\game is not a good concept imo. c:\program dir\game, however, makes sense

Maybe to you, to me it doesn't. I don't want sh!t buried 10 directories deep. Or those stupid programs who do C:\EA\Electronic Arts\Bonestorm or some crap.
