IT"S NOT A 2TB CARD!!! God. After reading through a whole discussion on /. yesterday, I have a that deja vu feeling coming on. Read the article people.

Just think about this, if it has a xfer rate of 120 mb/sec, how lot would it take for 2tb to tranfer? It's the same speed as a HDD. This isn't a new & cool technology (well new maybe, but not cool), up the xfer speed, then we'll talk. By the time this comes out even in significant gig portions, there's going to be much better, faster stuff out there.

Yeah, this isn't amazing unless they have a new transfer technology that allows for way faster transfer speeds. It'd take hours for 2TB to transfer using this transfer speed.

MB or mb. It matters. If its MB that is a LOT faster than current HDs.

People, people, this is just a new flash format. No new technology here. It's not 2TB. That's just the max size it supports. IDE supports up to 128 petabytes but so what?

The only interesting thing about it is that it supports a much higher transfer speed than any available falsh format but that's only because they use a newer interface, not because they've improved flash memory in anyway. Some flash chips with the right interface can support up to SDRAM speeds (but with high latency) so this new formant is still a lot slower than what flash can support.

If you read that article.. apparenlty compact flash is at 128GB, and memory stick pro is at 2TB also!
