Just curious if you can have like two speaker systems working together on a computer?

I have logitech Z5500s right now and I might come across some klipsch speakers.
I was think if I go use digital for my Z5500s and SPDIF with the klipsch that they can be on at the same time? I dont think it is possible and not sure I have seen this question popped up before. I don't think it is possible tho, but curious anyways.

You want them both on at the same time?

So a 5.1 Klispch set or a 2.1/2.0? I guess it doesn't really matter.

Digital and SPDIF are the same connection type. Do you mean analog for the Klipsch (although I think there was a Klipsch set that used a digital input, are you talking about those?)

If your soundcard has digital out and analog out, it should work. You might have limited options while running digital out though.

For example my current soundcard can only output in stereo for analog while it's outputting digital in PCM and not in analog at all while doing DDL.

I think my old Chaintech card wasn't limited in this was and could do 5.1 analog out and digital PCM at the same time.

I'm not sure on the Audigy cards that I'm assuming you have.

If you're getting a 2.1 or 2.0 set of Klipsch, you could attach them along with the z-5500s in analog to make yourself a 7.1/7.2 set.

If your card doesn't output digitally and in analog at the same time, you could use each set independently and switch between the two for different purposes.
An alternative would be to get a few 1/8" splitters and hook both systems up in analog. The signal from your soundcard would be a little weaker, but should still work fine.

Does any of that help or are you asking about something else?

Yeah I was gonna have the klipsch 5.1 given to me but the Z5500s are just so nice. I was wondering if like both would run simultaneously on the same computer. If so that would be awesome, 2 Subs and 10 satellites... boom boom.

Uh...it wouldnt be less quality as long as he kept the subs in check. One of the rooms in my suite has a z5300 and z2300 setup. They just used one 3.5mm splitter and bam, connected. It actually works out great for music, and hell, even movies. Helps to fill the room more.
