I have an AC97 built-in sound card and a sound blaster PCI card, so is there any way to make them work together? Because now when i want one of them to work i have to disable the other from device manager.

Please change your topic line to something more meaningful than "Question?". It's called topic line for a reason 😉
 
I haven't tried it but...

Go to Control Panel >> Sound and Audio Devices >> Audio tab.

Change the Sound playback Default device to the card of your choice (w/o disabling either in Device Manager). See if that works.
 
I don't think you can do that, that's why there's a "Default Sound Device" in Control Panel. Some applications can choose what card to output through, however.
 
Yeah, I think you have to choose one or the other at a time. I'm not totally sure on it since I have never tried it myself, but I think that's how it works.

What are you trying to do hishamelprince? Maybe we can come up with a different solution for you.
