My wife insists on using the desktop computer while I want to edit home videos. I am currently running XP Pro, but I do have a license for Windows Server 2003 that I have never used. I have used VNC and Remote Desktop (terminal services) applications before and thought that the best solution would be to do something similar as I would only be transferring screen images across the network as opposed to large video files. I have over 500 gigs of family video files that I do not want to move around and I do have a laptop that I can use as the remote client.
1. Is there a way for two users to use Windows XP Pro at the same time (two separate logins)? I don?t know of any.
2. Would you recommend that I install server 2003 on the main desktop and simply use terminal services from the laptop?
3. Are there any drawbacks to doing this?
4. Are there better approaches out there?
