We've got people doing all kinds of harmful things to other people and law enforcement goes after this?
why not, it's easy and takes very little time with video proof? and when they forget to pay the fine, it goes up and up and up.

Did you bother to read and comprehend what was written in the article? It didn't say law enforcement was scrutinizing Youtube, Facebook, etc., for violators to prosecute, which is what you've implied.

It said this:

"We started receiving a lot of e-mails and phone calls about this. People had taken screen shots from Snapchat accounts," the agency's spokeswoman Kyndel McConchie told CNN.

So, I suppose law enforcement is supposed to also ignore complaints, emails, phone calls, etc., right, in addition to not wasting time browsing Facebook, Youtube, et al, for violators? It'd save time and money to just ignore everything, right?

Just don't see where your outrage comes from in relation to the cops and the time spent arresting these dipshits.

I nearly fell down laughing when I came across this story. We've got people doing all kinds of harmful things to other people and law enforcement goes after this? What's next? Will they scour YouTube for pets drinking alcoholic beverages out of people's glasses?

That's how it works. Just because something serious happens doesn't mean that law enforcement for everything else stops.

I hope those guys only receive a misdemeanor for this prank. We've got a president that grabs women by their genitals, props family members up into the most powerful offices he can for their personal gain, lies all day long to the public and law enforcement doesn't have anything better to do than go after a couple of young people who play with a nuisance reptile?

I could see if they'd physically harmed the creature but all they did was quench its thirst and let it go. :pYour honor that gator looked parched and we gave it something to drink so it wouldn't dehydrate.:p

I'm not sure what to say, other than. Alcohol makes people stupid.
In a country where we've got people mowing each other down on sidewalks with cars and performing drive by shootings a couple of kids pouring beer into the mouth of a small gator is comparative child's play.

Alcohol is very likely involved in the other situations you've mentioned.

there's plenty of humor to be found in that story, no doubt about it.

what there is no humor to be found in is your comparing what is considered by most a mid level and fairly common crime (animal abuse) to horrific crimes which are actually extremely rare in comparison.

your "logic" here is a joke, you are essentially saying that cops should just ignore lesser crimes as long as more severe crimes are occurring.

Well if the two are occurring at the same time the more severe of the two should take precedence.:p
