Two requests

#1) That "Click here to view the forum polls." in the upper left-hand corner hasn't changed in months. It's not too bad of an idea, but needs to be updated more often or deleted IMHO

#2) Is there a way you can add a "Delete" button to posts in a thread? Similar to the edit button, but just totally removes a post.

check the main page for updated polls the poll feature in the forums here is more marketing of the forum software IMO then a function of anandtech.

this question comes up more often then not around here, the answer is no, because of potential abuse of such a feature and software security concerns (mainly the Genral population having the ability to delete from the database) its not going to happen.

The ability to delete posts would be abused as soon as it was implemented.

Imagine...

Screw you mods, you suck!

A minute later, it's gone.

The mods have a hard enough time keeping this place clean without eliminating the evidence.

Another potential situation would be a massive nef flood that vanishes before the mods can nail those responsible.

Sorry, but I can't do anything about the frequency of the polls 🙂 That would be someone else's dept 😉. We won't be allowing the deletion of posts anytime soon.
