two readouts = two cores?

When I hit alt-ctrl-del and click the performance tab, if there are two readouts for CPU usage history, that means I am dual core processor correct? single = single core?

I thought HT CPUs also did this. (old tyme Pentium 4). It might just be hyper threaded.

HT CPUs do show twice as many cores as there really are, but the OP has listed in his sig that he has a Core 2 Duo, which is of course a Dual Core CPU.
