Two raid setups?

cpals

I have an IWILL XP-333R and currently have a Raid 0 setup for my main OS and then another 80Gig hard drive for files. I want to add another 80 gig hard drive and put the files in Raid 1 so It'll be my main backup drive. Can the motherboard support two separate raid setups and will it impact the system performance much since it is software raid?

Thanks.

Since you would be doing software RAID, the motherboard does not matter. Just as long as you have a spare IDE channel, you're good to go. I don't know how much of a performance hit you would take. RAID 1 shouldn't be very processor intensive, since there are no striping or parity calculations.
