Two Questions

I have a Linksys B Router. Will upgrading to the G increase wired speeds at all?

And, to tag along on the issue of speed, is there much difference in cable modems? I received a Scentific Atlanta WebSTAR modem when I signed up with Brighthouse. Would I see any difference in speeds by purchasing another model, such as Motorola or something else?

My speeds are currently around 4770/359.

Thanks!

No, changing from 802.11b to 802.11g will increase your wireless speeds but your ethernet speeds will remain at 100mb.

You may see speed differences in cables modems with some precise benchmarks but you likely won't notice with the naked eye. Download and gaming speed changes should be unnoticable.
