two questions about sata drives

first bios trys to boot from cd rom then seeing no cd it then boots from the sata drive. it does not list sata drive as bootup opt., only ide drive, is there away to change this? second can you have a sata drive and a ide drive together the sata drive needs no jumper for master and id guess you'd set the ide to slave yes

There is an option o the bios about enabling to boot from other devices. If this is enable, the sytem will boot wherever it finds the boot files. Yes, you can have both SATA and IDE hdd on the same system. Which one you want to boot can be set at the bios. The jumpers only applies to hdd on the same ribbon cable.

You will not need to set the IDE drive to "slave"(Unless, of course, you have another IDE drive on the same ribbon). The SATA is completely independent of the IDE controller. SATA drives don't have the jumpers because they are always "masters". This is becuase it is a serial interface.
