two questions about Leadtek PX6600

Hello! I have two questions concerning my new Leadtek PX6600 128mb video card.

#1 I bought mine off of someone else and it didn't come with a dvi-to-vga adapter, but I need one in order to set up my dual CRT setup.

I've been reading a bit and it's come to my attention that I actually need a DVI-I to VGA adapter since my DVI plug has 4 little pins around the bigger flat pin and that means it's digital/analog DVI. That adapter seems a bit harder to find.

It's also come to my attention that not all adapters work with all cards and that worries me somewhat. I don't want to buy something that won't work. So I'm looking for your advice on what adapter to buy and possibly where to buy it from at a reasonable price (that will ship to canada).

#2 DRIVER question, since I got a leadtek card, must I always download drives from leadtek's website or will the original nvidia drivers also work? If you know of a better driver ressource site for my leadtek I'd appreciate a link as well!!

THANK YOU GUYS

oh and I just noticed Leadtek's website even has a BIOS update FOR the video card ... now call me a big noobie for asking but.. since when do we have to update BIOS on video cards? and how does that work exactly? I mean.. what's it do ?

Hrm, seems I am lucky and found out I already have a dvi-i to vga adapter, but it's the one that came with my old radeon 7200 card. Do you think that it will work well with my new 6600 card?

and i'd really love an answer about the drivers.. so bumping this kinda.. I'm sure many of you know the answer to my driver question ;-)

so that means I can use the latest Forceware drivers with my leadtek card and those will be the best drivers I can get? They work just as well for nvidia cards then nvidia partner cards I mean ?

Where did you get the vid card in Canada? Ebay or retail?

Yes the NV drivers will be fine. You may lose any leadtek customizations in the driver apps, but gain in performance/stability/etc. Try them both...
