Just wondering if i can use an extra PSU (old AT non switching ) as a suplemental. I have a second PSU running my fans and lights. How much can i use it to run HDD or DVD-RW and CD-RW. I am working with a stock 350w and runing a 7800 gtx oc and want to take some load off the main GPU. What can i Plug in to my secondary PSU and not have a Eletrical prob (2nd PSU is 300w and very stable) In theory it should be just like another rall but i DO NOT want to FRY ANYTHING!!!!!

I'm no expert but I know that older PSU's have a much smaller 12v rail so an old 300w does not have as many amps on the 12v rail as a new 300w.
just thought I'd point that out.

Here's an article at XBit labs that's kinda related. I know i've seen something else lately about hooking up two power supplies to one computer, but I can't find it right now. Do some googling - i'm sure there are examples out there, and I'm sure it can be done.

What???? I get the Chocobo refrence but what are you saying? I am case modding my p4 and adding 3 SATA HDD. With 7800 gt oc and DVD-RW x2 and 6 case fans (oc'd 7900 at 499 and 1.18 and prescott runs HOT )I am worring about power consumption
