I have recently bought a golden Orb for my Athlon 600, it was sold as a Thermaltake Golden Orb, but the box said Titan Majesty IV.( Thermaltake is written on the cooler it self, though.)

Does anybody know if there is any difference between this one and "the Original"?
Has any of you guys tried any of them?

Take care and have fun!!!

Allegedly, the older Thermaltake's have a black plastic ring, or insert inside the fins. These are more desirable, because the fan turns at a few hundred more RPM than the newer one's, which are gold colored, inside and out. If "Thermaltake" is written on the HSF, it's the real deal. Unless someone is counterfeiting them!

*Edit. My post applies to the Socket 370 GORB's. Sorry.

Bentrold,

Let me guess, your posting from somewhere in Europe?

The Thermaltake Golden Orb is distributed boxed under the Titan name in Europe. So your good to go.:)

How can you counterfeit a golden orb? counterfeit them and sell them for like $2 less? I might understand counter feiting alphas but not the golder orb which sells for $14.50 on millisec.

Who said anything about counterfeiting?

I'm thinking it is a distribution arrangement in Europe. This same question (Titan name) came up in an earlier thread and when I went to the Titan site it clearly shows the Golden Orb with the Thermaltake name stamped on the base plate. The box says Titan.

Have e-mailed Thermaltake about question.

Received an e-mail reply from Thermaltake today regarding the Titan Majestic. I had asked if the Titan Majestic was actually the Thermaltake Golden Orb being distributed in Europe under the Titan name. Response:

Yes.
