so i'm getting married, and i need to conserve real estate as that's a necessity in new york living situations...

my fiance and i are looking at options for two-person computer desks that are stylish yet practical. (that means we don't want classroom desks that you can find with a search on google.)

does anyone know of anything like that? we don't need keyboard trays or any of that stuff, but we're looking at something that we can put in a corner or something that would be good looking and make others go "ooooh aaah!" when they step foot into the apartment. most importantly, we both want to sit together at that desk. :D

thanks :)

edit: i did my dictionary.com research and fiance is the correct term to refer to the male to whom i, a female, will be marrying.

Corner desks, back to back maybe? How much floor space in square feet are you willing to give up? That would help us help you. Help us, help you.

Like these?, but two rather than four obviously.

uh, i dunno... we don't need anything big. i'd say 50 sq feet max. i'd have to do measurements, but that's my rough approximation.

we have about 10 feet or so between the corner of the apartment and the door. i'd want the desk near the corner, giving us adequate mobility by the door, obviously.

back to back would not really be practical imo as i'd want to see the guy :p

You want to sit right next to him and surf side-by-side? My wife and I felt like that once, but it fades quickly. ;)

With my back-to-back desk setup, you would only have to lean a few inches one way to be able to see your fiance face-to-face. The back-to-back refers to the physical desk configuration, not the actual position you two would sit in.

How about a large desk with a hollow centered. If you guys have LCDs, you can just sit opposite each other w/o too much of a problem. Or two desks stack up against each other

yes. i was tripled in a double room. i took the single bed instead of the bunk and that was the trade off.

anyone else, thanks for the effort, but please don't do a google search as i've already exhausted that avenue already.

Wow that is really lame that your room didn't have a third desk for you
