Was going through some pics I took a few months ago.

Comments? Critiques?

EDIT: These were taken with a POS P&S Fuji FinePix S3000.

Bottom one is my cellphone wallpaper. Works really well as that.

do you not take pictures of people? when you are old and dying, I doubt you will look fondly at pictures of landscapes. where are the pics of your loved ones?

edit: they are nice pics, tho. :)

The first one is not bad. Too much backlighting so the forground is way too dark. You composition is a little off too. Overall not bad.

I really like the second pic. Clean it up a little and blow it up it will make a nice framed pic.

Nice pics OP. If you're looking for criticism, here's what I think could improve. The first picture does suffer from the tree taking up too much focus, plus the foreground could use more exposure. Feels too dark. On the second pic, I think some contrast would help things dramatically.

Because I'm bored and have nothing else better to do right now, I put a couple of minutes into the second pic to bring out the color and contrast. Hope you don't mind!

Unfortunately, in my photography, I'm better at PP'ing than actually taking the photograph.

Thanks, good work.
I think however, that the bottom part of the pic is too dark.
If I would work on it I would make a gradient layer mask on the image and darken the top part only. It would blend in perfectly. :)
