Two observations

First observation: Toyota drivers are almost always the bad drivers on the road, if someone cuts you off and then goes unsafely slow in the fast lane, chances are it's a Toyota driver. I've had this theory for several years now and it just gets reconfirmed over and over again, next time you're on the roads make a mental note of the worst drivers and what they are driving and report back with your results. I'm not trying to say they're the only bad drivers, just the make up a large percentage of them.

Second observation:
I was watching a compilation of Comedy Central Presents: this weekend, which was just a bunch of stand up comedians from over the years compiled into two DVD's.

I noticed time and time again that nearly all non-white stand up comedians jump right into racial/ethnicity jokes and that the majority of their jokes are racially/ethnically related whereas some white comedians did racial/ethnic jokes also but not nearly as many and only as a partial bit in their whole act.

This was after watching about forty 30 min shows of various comedians.

#1: You're probably just noting the cases that propel your own theory. I've never noticed that.

#2: True. I sometimes tell my white friends how hilarious I find it that they're often scared to death at the idea of discussing anything to do with race. But that's what you get for being The Man. :p

In response to observation #1: The only bad drivers I seem to run across drive SUV's, not Toyotas. Granted some of those SUV's are LandCruisers and what not, but not a percentage that's out of line with the percentage of Toyotas in general. Actually... the worst of the SUV drivers seem to be the ones in Ford Exploders.

Observation 2 only serves to demonstrate that racism is bad IF YOU"RE WHITE AND DOING IT. Otherwise it's ok.

#1 is false in my experience. There appears to be no one car manufacturer that could make this claim. There does seem to be certain models, though. For example, pontiac grand prixs seem to attract more idiots than usual. Not sure why. 20 year old corollas would be the closest thing to toyota troubles i've found... especially if they have a ralph nader bumper sticker from 2000.

Just watch and see, I bet you'll start noticing how many Toyota drivers suck out there! :p

Agreed.

But it's the law of averages my friend!

#2 - yes, I think that any non-white comedian is expected to toss out some racial jokes. I was also watching comedy central (Henry Cho, I think). His first few jokes were about his asian heritage, and then he announced to the audience that was all of the racial jokes he'd be doing.

#1 By far the largest number of bad drivers I see on the road are in large SUV's like Ford Expeditions & Suburbans... also any car that attracts senior citizens like an older LTD or Towncar is a likely suspect.

#2 Don't watch enough Comedy central to comment on this.

#1, I've never seen a correlation. Probably you subconsciously ignore the non-Toyota problem drivers and you focus highly on the Toyota drivers. For me, it is all pickups and SUVs that cut me off, that turn illegally and improperly, etc. But I too probably fall under the false assumption because I'm biased.

#2, Definately. I've made that exact same post here before. For example, Dave Chappelle is probably one of the funniest comedians I've heard. Yet I can't stand listening to him any more. Every single one of his jokes is about race. Can't he come up with ANY material that goes out of that zone?

That's arguably the best thing about being brown.

#1. don't know
#2. Possible reason may be minorities are confronted with racial issues more than white people. In US being white is the norm (specially in midwest/north) so there isn't gona be any specifically interesting story about ethnicity, at least not as frequent. Besides, jokes are about stereotype, and its a little harder to fit white people in stereotype, because there is too many "stereotypes" for whites.

#1 I am unsure of. You probably ignore cases where it isn't a Toyota.

#2 is simple: like women, people of color are not funny without shock humor. It's sad but true. :D

Seriously, I can't stand people that only have one joke domain, such as Josh Blue from LCS. He was funny, but I can only stand to hear about his palsy for so long. Chris Porter OTOH talked about everything from religion to drugs to women. Those comics are funny. Dave Chapelle is funny for a few minutes but then you tire of the black vs. white jokes. Dane Cook is an example of a hysterical comedian that talks about a variety of subjects and keeps you laughing.

I have no problem talking about race.

Want to know how every good joke starts?

<looks to left and right to make sure no "darkies" are around> So, uh, these two....
