I just got two locally used lenses: Nikon 70-210mm ($85) and 18-55 II ($70)

Both are in near mint condition, although the old 70-210 was a little sticky on the focus until we opened it up and cleaned some old grease off the focus ring.

The 70-210 takes TACK SHARP pictures. I cannot believe it. I have never used such a sharp lens, except maybe a 50mm prime. There is also no distortion!

The 18-55mm takes very decent pics, and I will give my mom my older 18-55mm for her D50.

So.. did I do OK? I will post pics from the 70-210 later.

18-55 II DX is worth about $70 used so I'd say it's pretty average deal.

As for the 70-210, if it's a f/4-5.6 D model, then you really scored. Apparently those are some of the fastest-focusing (non-USM) telezooms that Nikon makes.
