There is an arbitration process that is set to take place so they may well get their jobs back, but the video clearly shows them taking pleasure in hurting this kid.

Two Seabrook, New Hampshire police officers have been fired and another has been suspended without pay after a video of them allegedly beating a man in custody surfaced on YouTube.

According to NECN, Mark Richardson and Adam Laurent were terminated today and Keith Dietenhofer will lose two days’ pay after video from an arrest was posted on YouTube by the alleged victim. Youtube Video Here

Michael Bergeron, Jr., then 19, was arrested for driving while intoxicated in November 2009. In the video, he is led down a hallway by Richardson, who suddenly slams Bergeron’s face into the wall. Bergeron gets to his feet, then falls back down to the ground, where Laurent sprays him with pepper spray.

“No chief wants something like this to happen,” said Seabrook police chief Lee Bitomske.

Bergeron’s mother spoke with NECN’s Amy Sinclair after the announcement, telling her that her faith in the town and its police department had been restored with the decision.

The video was posted in January. Richardson was charged with assault in April, and had been on unpaid leave since then. Laurent and Dietenhofer were on paid leave.

So where are the assault charges against these two former officers?

US is a nation of laws and anyone that violates the law should be held accountable. Police who violate the law should be charged for any crimes they commit, have a trial, and if convicted be punished in accordance with the law just like any other American.

They had 5 years since the incident before they were fired. I imagine there are plenty more videos of abuse by these two that we haven't seen.

Glad to see they got let go, but yeah, where are the assault charges? Just because they are cops, makes them above the law, too?
