Five degrees celsius on the CPU and six for the system!
I had 7v modded my two antec case fans, which added 1C to the temps. Today I received four rounded IDE cables and two Vantec Stealth fans from svcompucycle. I stuck the two fans in the remaining two case fan holders on my Antec 1040 case & replaced the ribbon cables. Boom, easy as that a dramatic temp drop
I have no idea whetehr the round cables help & I don't plan to swap them out to see. They are so much easier to work with - that's reason enough to have them. Additionally, I got a different color for each IDE channel.
The Stealth fans are very quiet and have no high-pitched sound as some have posted here. They make less noise than the 7v modded Antec case fans.
