This is likely a dumb question but I just want to check: Is there anything wrong with having two monitors beside each other? I say this because I have done this and one of the monitors doesn't seem to have straight lines on the screen anymore. I'm wondering if this can be caused by having the monitors side by side.

Havn't had any problems with mine... and they've been like that for 2 years now...

I will say though, that no two monitors are ever exactly the same, and no monitor will ever be perfect, so maybe your just noticing that one is better than the other?

Well, at a place I used to work at, they had workstations with 2 monitors next to each other in multiple locations, be it for dual desktop or for 2 pcs. They made it a point to not sync refresh rates on them, as in the alternated them. One monitor would be at 85hz, the next 75hz... not sure if it was required, but I can say none of the monitors had problems.

How old is the monitor in question?

Older monitors generally don't have very good shielding, this can cause a distorted picture if they are placed near another monitor.

You might use "external shielding" - a metal plate between the monitors - ot se if situation improves.

Yeah they can interfere...

Try different refresh rates on each, try compensating with the OSD, degauss and remember that the electromagnetic interference falls off with the square of the distance so moving them apart just a small amount may completely clear up the problem.
