Hello,

I have one quick and for most of you easy question.

Does 2nd monitor lower video card's performance?

I just bought 7950gt and have 24" Dell LCD.

If I plug-in my other 20" LCD will fps in my games be lower then if it's single monitor plugged in.

Of course, I would not run anything on 20".

If it does, I would get another either pci or pci-ex to run 2nd monitor dedicated on that card.

Thank you ...

If you don't display anything on one monitor while you game then no, performance wont take a hit. But if you run your desktop on the other monitor I'm 99.9% sure you will see a decrease in fps.

But it also depends on the game you are playing and whether or not the decrease in performance makes the game unplayable.

I ran 2 monitors at 1600x1200; only gaming on one; never noticed a performance hit I don't think.

If there is one, you just turn off the second display from the video card settings while you game, then turn it back on when you're done.

Having 2 monitors is awesome.
