For sure, a friend of mine has two totally different monitors set up together. It will work. The question is, will it bother you ;)

My local Office Max was liquidating some AOC 21.5" monitors, so after the monitor "expert" convinced me the setup would be fine I decided to try pairing one up with my 22" Samsung.

Not a good idea - the size difference was way more annoying than I thought and gave me a headache. I would recommend against pairing up 2 different sizes for the long term.

I have a two monitor setup of different sizes, but I only game on the main one, I use the second one for secondary programs running simultaneously (vent, browser, etc.) It's very convenient.

It can be kind of awkward when your resolutions aren't the same. I use two different resolutions at work (16x9 and 4x3), and if you move too far down on one and attempt to transition over to the other monitor, your cursor will hit an "imaginary wall."

It's not really that bad though. :p

Eh, I've ran mixed monitors before and doesn't bother me at all. When you view one as your gaming monitor the other as your web browsing monitor it doesn't matter if they match. It's like being bothered that your laptop isn't the same size as your TV when you're browsing the web while sitting on the couch..

I should have been more clear - I meant two monitors spanning the same image. I was heading towards an eyefinity setup and I figured if the 21.5 and the 22 worked together I would buy another 21.5 for the other side of the 22.

But the 21.5 and the 22 didn't match up at all, so i returned it. I bought 2 cheap 22" monitors from newegg instead, and the difference is night and day.
