Two monitor questions

I managed to solve my 85 Hz problem using Powerstrip to force the refresh rate to 100 Hz.

But I have two little questins now.

For monitors, color depth doesn't affect refresh rate, right?
If a montor can handle 800x600x16@85Hz it can handle 800x600x32@85Hz as well, right?
Just wanna make sure Im not doing anything I shouldn't be with my monitor.

And, does it make a noticeable difference by using good quality BNC cables from the monitor to the GFX card, using a converter on the vid card end?

with almost all new monitors, color depth doesn't matter anymore, but with some older video cards, they couldn't handle higher resolutions with greater color depth

as long as the card and monitor let you display the depth you want, there's nothing to worry about

as far as BNC cables, there's been quite a few posts about that. i personally use a converter like you described and run BNC cables into my 20" monitor...the consensus seems to be that it looks better if:

1) you have a big monitor

2) you run at really high resolutions

if you fit into any of these 2 categories, you'll probably notice a small improvement by going with BNC...BUT, remember that with bnc you lose plug and play on the monitor, so you may have to manually specify your monitor in device manager.

I thought there would'nt be no problems, just needed a confirmation, thanks.

And it seems like I'll go with BNC cables then, I have an Eizo F931, it's a 21" and Im running at 1600x1200x32@100Hz.
The PnP thing isn't a problem as I already installed monitor specific drivers in my attempts to get to 100 Hz.

Thanks for the reply.
