Two Moniters side by side bad?

I just got a 21 inch Sony moniter today. Anyway I set it up right beside my old 17" moniter and I'm wondering if it's best to keep them as far apart from eachother as possibe. When I turn the first moniter on then turn on the second and both are running side by side I notice the one I turned on first actually has a second or two of screen distortion to the nearest side of where the other moniter is being turned on. Seems like a very short EMI\RFI is going on. I don't know if that can lead to a shorter life of the moniters or if that can be expected and not to worry about. Thanks

When you turn on a monitor, strong magnetic de-gaussing coils activate to clear lingering EM fields of any sort. The effect you see on the monitor that is already on is some of the magnetic field interference from the other monitor. I wouldn't worry about it at all. People put two monitors directly together all the time for dual display setups.

not bad, just make sure you have a dirt devil closeby to clean up the clumps of hair that will gather around your chair

LOL! let's pray these CRT moniters don't put out an ass load of radiation. I try to sit atleast 2 feet fromt the moniter screen to avoid exposure as much as possible. :) funny comment though.

No problems at all.

I've done systems for day traders before, orders have ranged from 3 monitors to 8 monitors!

I should follow up on that order for 8 monitors... wonder if he still has his hair :p

Use a broom, the dirt devil generates stonger magnnetic fields then your monitor ever will.
