Two members, one email question

My wife signed up here on the AT boards not too long ago but had to use one of my free email acounts. While this is no big deal(except the email is benskywalker@crosswinds.net and people may think she is me), what if some low life ends up getting Crosswinds accounts blocked?

With my local ISP being quite small the odds of some moron screwing things up is quite small, but with free email accounts available at Crosswinds will my wife get booted if we have another problem poster that uses a Croswinds account??

That is only part of the question, I'm also wondering if it would be possible to have two people using one email account? I know about forgotten passwords, but you could send both in such a case, or perhaps that isn't possible.

Thanks for any replies in advance:)

AFAIK, you are only allowed one account per e-mail address. If you're worried about someone getting the crosswinds.net e-mail addresses banned, I would suggest looking into the free e-mail addresses that are allowed to be used on the forms. One that comes to mind right away is Originpoint... I'm sure Russ could tell you more about that, such as what the web address to get an e-mail address on the originpoint system.

Many cool addresses still available.:D Unlike the big freemail companies, the owner of Origin Point cooperates with the mods when an abusive user rears his ugly head.:)

No, unfortunately, you can't. You can check your pop3 accounts from Origin Point, but not the other way around. The service is handled by another company on an ad revenue sharing basis. Allowing pop access pretty much destroys advertising.

Yeah, I guess that's true. Or you could do like some newsfeeds do, add a little banner at the end of each email sent out and recieved:

--- Emailed from OriginPoint.com ---
--- Visit now to get your own FREE email address ---
--- http://www.originpoint.com ---

Thanks for the info guys:)

I told my wife about it so she will probably be registering soon, she was worried about forgetting to check her email and losing the account, happened to her with several other free sites. Perhaps I should grab an account also, never hurts.

How far are you expanding your enterprise Russ?:D
