Me and my brood were invited to not one but two 4th of July festivities today. I'm trying to decide which one to go to (both is not an option).

#1 features a swimming pool but the menu will be typical fare of hot dogs and burgers - hey, it's what the 4th is all about. Odds are there will be tons of people there.

#2 features smoked chicken and ribs along with the standard fare. Much larger yard for the kids to run around and play in, but no pool.

I'm sure appropriate beverage choices will be at both, so that is a non-issue. So which to go to?

(No poll, too lazy)

If your relatives are anything like mine, a pool plus drunken adults is potential for disaster. I'd go for the smoked chicken/ribs. But they both sound like good parties. Have a great time.

Idk if you could get away with murder in the pool party or not. It's better to try than live with them damn children. Just play in the pool, drown one of them at a time, and then be like, "omg... wtf happened. I was watching. I don't understand" when the court asks

Uh, where do you like the people better? That's what makes one choice better than the other.

Honestly, I'd go where I thought there would be more people that I'd enjoy to hang out with. The food and the pool is fine, but if I don't get along with the other people there it will be a pretty lousy BBQ.
