I can get two cable connections from my provider, and I am looking into ways to run them on the same network.
I am aware of the dual WAN routers but I would like to explore other possibilities first.
I have come up with an idea that I suspect might work.
If I set up two linux routers on teh network, say 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.2.2, would I be able to specify groups of computers to use each for their internet gateway, but stil access eachother over the LAN?
i.e. computer one has Ip address 192.168.2.25 and gateway 192.168.2.1 computer two has IP address 192.168.2.26 and gateway 192.168.2.2?
Would this work or am I just crazy? Would the routers start to fight and kill eachother?
Another thing that was suggested to me if this doesn't work is a network bridge, I have never set one up before but I understand it will link two LANs together? I am researching this further.
My main forus in this post is my first idea, as I have the hardware available to do this if it will work.
