Two idiots get owned while I'm at Staples

Was shopping at Staples today, and browsed by the hard drive isle. While looking at stuff, two guys were wanting to purchase those 160gb Maxtor drives that are on sale this week along with some other stuff. The staples rep pulls out two drives for them and they start chatting. At the end of their conversation, one guys pulls out a printable coupon that's been floating around and ask if he can use it. The rep looks at him like he's some kind of idiot and tells them that they probably won't be able to use it since so many fraudulent coupons are floating around. They end up walking over to the counter, and the rep starts typing stuff into the computer and goes ask the manager a question. The manager tells them the coupon is fraudulent and can't use it. The rep starts explaining to the two idiots that the store can't accept the coupon and if they recieved it in an email. The two idiots didn't know what to say and just started making up stuff about where they got it from and that the coupon says one per customer, etc. The manager sitting in his office is listening to this the whole time and eventually comes out and bust them.

I'm waiting in checkout LMAO at these two idiots. It was so funny!!

I'm surprised one of 'em didn't break down crying offering to go online and show 'em the website and the exact forum thread it came from.

Heh almost as bad as the two idiots I saw trying to take back an nForce 2 motherboard to Fry's. They said it didn't get video so the guy in the store whipped out some RAM, CPU, and video card and it worked fine. They were just like wha? Hehe.

He said the manager was listening to this whole convo in his office and eventually came out and busted them. Maybe he called the cops or just told them to stuff the coupon where the sun don't shine. :D

All the officestore managers in my area know about FW and other deal websites. The stupids here tell them that they got the coupon from FW, others at FW got a pricematch on a product and they want it too, etc.,
:D

I left after I paid. When the manager came back out, he didn't wasn't to happy because these two idiots kept telling the rep that the coupons weren't fraudulent and giving the rep a hard time. The manager apparently knew about the coupons already and wouldn't let them use it. It was so funny. I should have stuck around a bit longer to see what happened.

The store that this happened at was the University Ave. store in Provo, Utah

I hardly ever shop at this particuler store but I'm glad I went. If they were smart, they would have gave up their coupons and left or just paid full price to save themselves from embarrassment.

I've had pretty good luck with all the coupons and pming, if it don't work, no biggie, just leave quietly without a fuss and go to another store. Hopefully by next week they'll forget about me and I can waltz in with some other deal:D

Which one in Utah? The one on 4th S in Salt Lake let me use a printed coupon on the hard drive.

So all that happened is the manager said no? Not like they were going to get arrested, all they probably ended up doing was going to some other Staples and trying the same sh1t.

I'm not up on the whole coupon thing, but I did see the 160GB drive deal in the HD forums. So the legitmately acquired Staples coupon for $30 off $150 I had e-mailed to me as a registered Staples member is no good at B&M? I have to use online to make purchase, is that right?
