Two games I can't remember...

and it's driving me nuts. The first is a game that I got on a PC Gamer demo disk back in the late 90's. It was a third/first person shooter (I specifically remember third person but can't remember if you could switch to first person). The only weapon I specifically remember was a little spider mine that you could take control of.

The other "game" (and I use that term loosely) came bundled with 1996/97 Sony VAIO. It was a game where you made movies. There were different characters you could use and different special effects. I just remember that it used a 3D engine.

Any help to return my sanity is greatly appreciated.

Unreal games have used spidermines, although not that long ago.

Sounds like The Movies, but that game is only about 5 years old.

Before Unreal/Unreal Tournament. Not The Movies. Might be "Movie Magic" or something like that. Google wasn't much help.

Crusader: No Remorse, one of the best games I played back in the 90's!

I think he means 3rd person over the shoulder, not isometric.

But yeah, Crusader No Remorse and No Regret were both amazing. I still have a soft spot for those games.

The movie game could possibly be Microsoft's 3D Movie Maker. A friend of mine had that on their PC, I remember being disappointed with all the stuff I couldn't do in it, but it was impressive for the time.

No idea on the other game, any other details you can remember?

I was going to suggest 3D Movie Maker too. I remember having the trail version of that, came on a CD that also had this (at the time) super awesome 3D animated video. It featured a robot named Robit (I think) and I remember at one point he pulled out some flowers to impress some other robot (or something like that).

3D Movie Maker is one of them! I had some good times making movies with no plot but lots of explosions. Thanks guys.

The other one is an over-the-shoulder third-person shooter.

Thanks

Eradicator

The main contrast is that Eradicator spices up the action by giving you a third person perspective. In addition, PIP screens were added to select weapons and video cameras. The PIP screen is a small, camera-view screen in the top left hand corner. Now players can control spider- like bombs and change to the bomb's point-of-view as they seek out their intended target.

Ha! I had that demo disk. GaryJohnson beat me to the punch. That game was actually using a version of the build engine (Duke3D). You could choose from 3 player characters as well.
