The Florida Attorney General's Office and the Florida Bar -- the two most powerful legal organizations in the state -- said Palm Beach County prosecutors misrepresented their advice in order to release confidential plea negotiations in the Rush Limbaugh investigation....you have gross prosecutorial misconduct where the court might think about throwing the charges out," Rogow said.

doesn't sound like this Limbaugh thing is going to go anywhere...

I can't stand Limbaugh....but they've gone too far just because he's a celebrity. I think every prosecutor wants to pick up the "shine" from prosecuting the next O.J. or celebrity who has screwed up.

Leave the poor guy alone so he can go on misinforming America and be the jackass he is.

He's certainly not poor....he makes a gazillion dollars spouting his crap on the radio. He needs to get everything thats coming to him within the letter of the law. I guess he needs to do what he preaches...lock him self up in jail and throw away the key. I mean a drug abuser is a drug abuser whether its hill billy heroin oxycontin or heroin that junkies shoot up their veins is it not?

doesn't surprise me. They, lawyers, don't want any case in the media to show how to stupid our drug laws are.

Thus bringing to light the fact that the Attorney General's office is political and that state bars are organized for two purposes: (1) To make sure attorneys are protected from everything possible, and (2) To advance a political agenda. Incidentally, the State Bar of California got its hands slapped many years ago for using Bar funds to lobby. And, Heart, for you, the good news is, it was a conservative who brought the case.

I doubt they will get Rush on anything, the case seems pretty weak. It does make him just another hypocrite in a long line of hypocrites.

I can't think of a better way to impress upon Rush the realities of our society he has never seen and refuses to acknowledge on his show.

Congratulations on seeing something nice about me, etech. I would like to take credit, but like other things, what you see nice in me is something nice in you.

Of course moonie, the truth is, no one had brought up that particular topic of what might happen to Rush if he got a cell mate named Bubba. You took a look in your mirror and jumped all over the idea with what appeared to be some glee.

I guess if someone believes differently than the all knowing and wise moonie than it doesn't matter what happens to them.

if they were illegal drugs, id agreee with you.

Considering the amount he was taking was outside of what was prescribed, then yes they were illegal.

More than that. Obtaining, or attempting to obtain federally controlled substances illicitly is a felony offense in most states. Guns aren't illegal per se, but someone who goes around collecting scores of them under false pretenses can face severe penalties. So it is with these drugs.

Well, wasn't his housekeeper getting blackmarket pills for him? Because then EVEN if he had a prescription he can face charges for those pills because it would be illegally to possess them without a prescription for those actual pills. I almost learned that myself the hard way when I was prescribed benzos for sleep.

Perfect time to make an example out of someone because more people will see and hear about the example that is made. If they let him off scot free then that is the example that is sent " Ok to use prescription drugs all you want" If they lock him up then the example " don't do any unprescribed prescription drugs" is sent. They have to treat the case as an example like this because of his celebrity status.
Hopefully they will lock him up until after the 2004 elections too! Think his buddy Bush will pardon him?

There was recently a senator (dem) that was nailed for the same thing. She went through rehab, the charges were dropped and she was lauded as "Brave and courageous".

The fact is when you make someone an example because of political beliefs or based on thier celebrity you make a mockery of the system. Justice should be blind, to all beliefs, social staus and race.

Yes of course you're right I think they should treat him just as they would treat him if he was a black man who got arrested for the same thing. Keep in mind that a black man in Florida once got 45 years in prison sentence for stealing some rolls of toilet paper. :D

There ya go again

I heard of a man in WA state that got 20 years for a pack of cigarettes, he was white. He had an extensive criminal record.

IT SHOULDNT MATTER THE COLOR, OR HOW MUCH MONEY A PERSON HAS, OR HIS POLITICAL BELIEFS.

You seem very preoccupied with race and political affiliation
