1) Bandwidth = ping? (if not, is higher better then?)

2) Why does one file breakup into multiple downloads? Just grabbing an .avi of Matrix and one file gives me 8 threads. I know I grabbed the single file. What is this about?

Higher bandwidth is better because that's what that particular user has alloted to that file.

When you have multiple files (like sub files) that means that you're downloading from multiple users and the download will finish when it gets the file from the fastest user.

So what is what on Morpheus? Bandwith numbers look like those from SLAPSTER (although some look too low for pings.)

As for downloading ONE file from multiple users, what happens if you can't connect to one of the users? Incomplete file?

Another question about morpheus, does it contain spyware? I heard conflicting responses from different threads.

Everything I see on newsgroups says no, it does not. AudioGalaxy does, if you aren't careful when you install it.

you want high bandwidth, faster download.

In the search field, you will see a plus sign next to some files. It means that multiple people have the same file, and it will download portions of it from all of them, not just one person. The file breaks up into multiple downloads cuz morpheus can break up the file and let you download it from multiple people, so as to not slow down just 1 persons machine. And if alot of people with big pipes have it, you get it fast. The faster connections get used more, so you aren't waiting for someone who has a 56k or has made the upload bandwidth really low.

late.

<< can you get viruses from morpheus? >>

If you download the wrong (infected) files, yes. If you're careful and have a virusscanner running in the background chances are nearly zero.
