Two DVD Questions

First) How do you get the DVD player in your computer to play DVD's from outside the United States?

Second) How do you record a movie from the DVD to your comp if you have a DVD player in your comp??

1) No clue, I don't own a DVD drive

2) Use a DVD ripper, I'm sure someone can point you to a good one

well the main thing I want to know is how to play DVD's from a different region.

You have to use the dvd software to change the region code that works with your drive. Supposedly you are only able to change the region several times(up to 5 or 6 times I believe) and then it will be locked to the last region. What software do you use to play dvd's on your comp?

some dvd player's firmware can be hacked/patched to play multi region dvds.

and you need dvd s/w tools to rip dvd then convert into vcds.

What kind of DVD drive? The newest ones will lock after 5 region changes, so you need to update their firmware to an all-region one... you can get some here if there's one for your drive.


You need a DVD ripper, I use Smartripper, DVD Decrypter is another good one. Do a search on google...
