Two dvd/cd burners in a system

HI

I?ve been doing a some of copying of files and movies to cd?s and dvd?s.. I have a Plextor dvd/cd burner that is about 3 to 4 years old.
I was thinking of replacing the Plextor and adding a second dvd/cd burner. Yjat way instead of having to copy a cd or dvd to a file on the hard drive and then over to a blank cd or dvd I can send the data feom one burner to another.

Now my question is what makes a dvd/cd burner such as a Plextor that costs upward of $75 better then say one made by Pioneer or Sony or Lite-On or Asus, etc????
Cost is a factor because of buying 2 units.
My thought is if I buy 2 units I want them to be matching because of transfer speeds, etc.
If I do this I will put both units on one cable and make one unit the master and the second unit the slave.
And and all help and advice is needed!!!
Thanks

I use a Plextor PX708UF connected via USB and a PX712SA on SATA. I bought the 708 years ago, so speeds must be different, but they work fine for me.
