The Bronze Rat

A tourist walks into a curio shop in San Francisco. Looking around at the exotica, he notices a very lifelike, life-sized bronze statue of a rat. It has no price tag, but it is so striking he decides he must have it. He took it to the owner: "How much for the bronze rat?" "Twelve dollars for the rat, one hundred dollars for the story," said the owner. The tourist gave the man twelve dollars. "I'll just take the rat, you can keep the story."

As he walked down the street carrying his bronze rat, he noticed that a few real rats had crawled out of the alleys and sewers and began following him down the street. This was disconcerting; he began walking faster. But within a couple blocks, the herd of rats behind him had grown to hundreds, and they began squealing. He began to trot toward the Bay, looking around to see that the rats now numbered in the MILLIONS, and were squealing and coming toward him faster and faster.

Concerned, even scared, he ran to the edge of the Bay and threw the bronze rat as far out into the Bay as he could. Amazingly, the millions of rats all jumped into the Bay after it, and were all drowned.

The man walked back to the curio shop. "Ah ha," said the owner, "You have come back for the story?"

"No," said the man, "I came back to see if you have a bronze Liberal."

You mean concede, right? Nope.

The *cough*independent voters*cough* who filed these suits are going to appeal. Same old chit that Gore is saying is being repeated: "The judges didn't understand the law and we need this overturned."

It does seem a little fishy that the "independents" decided to take this to court on their own accord huh. Wonder what Gore is doing for them, maybe he talked Slick Willy is sending Monica to their houses to "show her gratitude" for helping Gore to try and weasel his way into the big house. ;)

The FSC will probably not take up the appeal.

I mean Bush has been 4-0 by trial judges(all were registered democrats). The FSC won't overturn either of the rulings. Also note, the FSC also has to issue another opinion of the other case. I bet both come down today, and one favors Bush, and the other Gore.

gore won't concede tonite. (even if the SC rules against him tonite). he will wait for the appeals of the two cases ruled on today about absentee balots to be heard in the supreme court.

and if he loses all those, he will continue to appeal to the us disctrict court of appeal, and on up to the supreme court, well into next year he will continue with legal cases.

you people must understand, its a disease. he is mentally ill. delusions of grandeur , addiction to lawsuits, etc.

Gore is just making a fool of himself. If he wants a chance in hell of being the Dem candidate in 2004 he should just concede tonight. This has gone on far too long. What a colossal waste of time and money, albeit entertaining.

Doesn't matter, the Fla Legislature is right now validating Bush's electors, and there's not a court that will touch their right to do so after it's done... especially in light of the rulings today (and all the previous ones).

I hear Roaeanne Barr belting out the first verse already. :)

Thorn you are correct: however if one of the rulings favors gore, the court can ask for a more pro-gore electoral commitee. and that would be when the real sh!t hits the fan. however i really doubt this will happen, and also, i hope that gore would just take his toys and go home.

What a farce. Bush has won every suit in a trial court, just to have them overturned by the FSC. I mean come on, 4-3. Wooosh here comes month number 2....

The Democrats NEVER go to the people went the want something. They go straight to the courts and, I'll say this for them, the Dems stick together and protect their own.:|:|:|
