Not overclocking? Go for timings-- Your Corsair (2-3-3-6), or some other, better, 2-3-2-5 kit

Overclokcing? Go with the GSKILL.

I have the GSKILL kit. It's good, but at DDR 400 bandwith ain't that hot. Overclocked @DDR550 though, it's smokin at almost 7.5 gb/s.

Ok, I'm sold... going for the G.Skill, which was my first choice, until I got all interested in the "one day sale" items, haha.

I'll give myself the room to overclock if I want to later on, so G.Skill it is!

Thanks guys.

I was going to recommend the G.Skill, but i see it's just the DDR400 you have in your cart.

If it's only between those two, i'd lean toward the Corsair since its actually tighter timings by default, & sure the G.Skill may OC better...but that's a gamble.

I don't like either of those choices.

That's what i'd do.

n7, in order to use that RAM, i'd have to get a Mobo that allowed for DD500 or higher, right?

Well, not really.

Any decent s939 motherboard will allow use of that RAM.

Not all mobos have the option to run it @ 250 with the HTT @ 200, but if you're really averse to OCing, you could always just run a lower CPU multi + higher HTT, & then that DDR500 would run at its default speed.

Honestly, buying expensive RAM isn't really worth it in most cases for A64s though.

Getting some good value RAM & use the money saved toward a better video card...then you'll actually see a performance improvement in games, for example :)

I assumed we were talking about that kit from the beginning

It's the one I have. Go with that one, not the other GSKILL-- or the Corsair.

I recommend Corsair too! Maybe G.Skill is good, but if have to get anything else from Corsair, it will be OCZ.
