I just built a new machine because the one I had for years quit working properly. It would start up run for a while and then as soon as I installed a program downloaded something tried to uninstall something. It would freeze up, still allowing me to use the mouse click on certain things but ultimately I would have to reboot because I was unable to do anything else. Once I reboot I immediately get a bsod. Safe mode nothing else would work so I would have to re install windows thought it might be the hard drive replaced it had the se issue. Was older components so I decided to upgrade. Upgraded to a i7 4771 don't do any over clocking, so wasn't interested in the k model. So I have kingston hyper x 1866 2x8 gig ram, asus 280x graphics card, antec 850 true power quatro psu, asus z87 pro motherboard, samsung 840 evo ssd, western digital black 1 tb hard drive, and an antec 1200 case. Got everything installed set up and rocking and it is doing the exact same thing. Have tried using the western digital and the ssd both as the primary boot drives and get the exact same problem. the power supply is a refurbished one I got from amazon other than that everything else is brand new. Any ideas?

Also want to note that I've run memcheck and it isn't showing any issues. Also my idle temps are 41 Celsius and load temps are 55. and the crashes are completely random. The only thing I know for sure is that once it crashes it corrupts the os completely ;( not really sure where to start or what else to do I know I should strip it down and try one part at a time to have it fail but ugh... It takes a full re install of the os every time and I'm already at least eight tries in ;/(

Couple things.

If you are running into blue screens, run something like this to see what is in the minidump files:

If the new machine is running all new hardware, I would start looking at the commonalities on the software side.

This could even be a matter of uninstalling software until the blue screens go away.

If hardware, what are you carrying over?

None of the hardware is the same. I went with all new stuff. I am running a new copy of windows 8.1. I did have my old video card in there and it seemed to be running ok for a couple of days. Then I got my new 280x and tried installing the drivers for it and that's when it bsod. However it has bsod without that card in there and it has done it installing other programs the first time was when I put magician 4.3 for the samsung evo.

Well I am removing the graphics card going to roll with the on board to see if that makes a difference also going to look at the voltage tolerances from the psu... Any other ideas?

Seems system checker is listing my voltage core at 1.7 volts... Is that accurate at stock settings and have not modified any values other than xmp profile for my ram.

What voltage does your ram require, 1.5v or 1.65v? I tried to find your ram sticks, but see both voltages listed dependant on what sticks I'm looking at.

the ram requires 1.50 volts its showing 1.5 volts in the bios. the Cpu is running at 1.1 volts or close to it. All other voltages are right in the middle of acceptable tolerances. i'm currently posting this message with my pc... Without the graphics card . Going to run without it for a while and see what happens.... Right now i'm running on the on board graphics is it possible the power draw from the graphics card is causing voltage issues with my psu?
