Does anybody know what those things are called that you can plug two computers into, but only have one keyboard/monitor/mouse/etc. setup. I suppose it is something like a signal splitter. Also, where can I find information and pricing on this device? Thanks.

CoolTech is correct, it's a KVM switch. Do yourself a favor & get a good one, the cheap mechanical ones are a PITA.

Check out this for some ideas as to what is possible.

This is probably exactly what you need.

Here's a review of one as well.

Someone was selling top quality KVMs in the for sale/ for trade forum. You might want to check there first.

What kind of 2 computers are you hooking up to the monitor? I have a very cheap KVM that I want to get rid of for $40 shipped. The only problem is it has shadowing/ghosting/screen distortion..whatever. Its great for servers but if you're going to use it for gaming, email, whatever, then nevermind. ;)

I would have PMed or emailed you but you have them disabled.

Also..I know this isn't the right forums to sell...but I was just giving you a heads up.

I used a KVM switch forever and for the money I put into a cheap switch and all the cables needed + S&H, I could have ( and eventually did ) buy a used 15" monitor. If your computer desk is big enough, and you only want to hook up one other computer to it, I'd say buy another monitor. If not, as ViperGTS said, don't buy an el cheapo one cause you will regret it.

if you are building a new system, you can buy a monitor with both bnc and dsub inputs, and just hit the signal switch
