Two cars broken in to at my school.

After our last period class got out a bit early, the security guard asked me if my car's "glass was broken? Some cars were broken into." I run outside the campus to where my car is parked (11th graders aren't allowed to park inside the campus), and I see broken glass everywhere. I approach my car, and see that it is untouched. There was an old BMW 740 and a Chrysler 300C broken into, my classmates' cars. The guy who owns the BMW had left his brand new video ipod in his cupholder. We told him to put it away, because he was just asking to be broken into. The owner of the 300C had a $20 cell phone in his cupholder. My car was next in line, but I had luckily hid my $450 Escort 9500i radar detector into my center console, because I knew things like this would happen. So, 2 passenger windows, an ipod, and a cell phone later, I realize the street is not a safe place to leave your cars with valuables out in the open. 😉

EDIT: My dad told me a story after I told him this. When he lived in Santa Monica, CA, he had an old VW Bug, and anyone with one knows that the windows are very easy to pull down from the outside. His cassette player wasn't working well, so he bought a Walkman, but left it in the cup holder one day. He came back the next day and saw his window down and a Walkman missing. So, he bought another one, and one day forgot it out in the open again. Since he used to smoke back then, he left a pack of cigarettes in the cup holder with it. He comes back the next morning and sees the window rolled down... again. The thief took the Walkman and the pack of cigarettes, leaving a note behind: "Thanks for the cigarettes!"

Yeah, some folks really need to be more responsible with their valuables. Just today, I saw a Jaguar XJ with custom rims parked in a McDonalds parking lot in a not-so-nice part of town. It was running with the keys in the ignition and the driver's door unlocked!

Hell, even I felt like hopping in and taking it for a joyride 🙂

Heh, you should have left a note telling them to be more careful. But then again, that would look suspicious.

Apparently my dad used to steal car batteries and sell them for $5 a pop, which was a ton 40 years ago. He said that he would bring in 15 or 20 at a time, and do that weekly.

So he broke the window just to take the battery, or opened the hood without getting into the car? 😕

this reminds me of a story my aunt told me
she was getting coffee before work in her Porsche at Dunkin Donuts. While she was inside she heard glass shatter. She went outside and some guy was running off from her car...

He smashed the window to get in and steal her cheap ass nokia cellphone sitting on the seat... like $40 tops

She says had she known she would have gladly unlocked the car door and handed it to him

Your dad is a tard. He should have been smart enough to go after boat batteries. Those things are kept in holds that usually aren't even locked and theres 2-6 batteries to be had in a single boat.

Either way.. if I had seen your dad... I would kill him with my bare hands. And love every minute of it..

<-- Just replaced two batteries in his boat at a cost of $100 even with tradein.
