I'm getting ready to upgrade, and one thing that will be replaced is my GTS-250 in favor of a GTX-560ti. I'm thinking that when they get a little cheaper I can buy another one and throw it in the box and run SLI.

I'm also buying a new monitor, and will have it running alongside my old Dell 2405. I was just wondering if it was possible/made sense to keep the GTS-250 in the case and use it to run the older display, while the 560ti drives the new one.

Any thoughts?

Don't take my word for it but I thought additional cards are just extra ports, as far as I know for nV, and all the processing is done by the primary card(s). So it would be a waste.

I don't think you gain anything by using your older card alongside a new one other than the ability to do PhysX or something. I've run dual monitors off a single card for years, no drawbacks, even when gaming full screen on the primary display.
